FOR U.S. TRAVELERS

Türkiye, Planned from Your Side of the Atlantic

For American travelers, Türkiye is closer than it feels. Turkish Airlines operates direct flights from New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, Washington, Boston, Miami, and San Francisco — with a flight time of roughly ten to eleven hours to Istanbul Airport. You board in the evening and arrive the next afternoon, rested and ready for a private transfer to your hotel.

What makes the difference is not the flight, but what happens after you land. Turquoise Coast Collection is a U.S.-based travel design studio with deep Turkish roots. Our planning happens in your time zone, in English, with the cultural fluency that comes from a family connection to the country. Every itinerary is built from scratch around your interests — whether that means dawn photography in Cappadocia, private culinary workshops in Istanbul, or a week aboard a traditional wooden gulet along the Turquoise Coast.

We work with licensed local guides, carefully selected hotels, and trusted destination-management partners. You travel privately — never in a group bus — with a different specialist guide in each region who knows the site, the neighborhood, and the best time of day to visit. From your first planning call to the moment you board your return flight, you have a single point of contact and a team on the ground.

WHY PRIVATE

Why Choose a Private Journey in Türkiye

U.S.-Based Planning

Your travel designer is based in New Jersey, available in your time zone by phone, email, or video call. No call centers, no holding queues — just a single named contact who knows your trip.

Turkish Family Roots

Our founders have a family connection to Türkiye spanning generations. That cultural fluency shapes every recommendation, from the neighborhood breakfast spot locals love to the artisan workshop that does not appear on review sites.

Private English-Speaking Guides

Each region is led by a licensed, English-speaking specialist — an archaeologist in Ephesus, an art historian in Istanbul, a geologist in Cappadocia. You never share a guide with strangers.

Vetted Local Partners

Our journeys are fulfilled through carefully selected hotels, licensed guides, transportation providers, and trusted destination-management partners.

Personalized Itinerary Design

No two journeys are the same. Your itinerary reflects your pace, your interests, and your preferences — whether that means sleeping in, hiking off the beaten path, or a private Bosphorus dinner cruise.

Seamless In-Country Support

A dedicated WhatsApp group connects you to our Istanbul team for the duration of your trip. Missed a transfer? Want to add a sunset dinner? We handle it in real time.

RECOMMENDED DURATIONS

How Long Should Your Türkiye Journey Be?

Most American travelers allocate one to two weeks. Here is what each duration makes possible.

7DAYS

Seven Days — Istanbul & Cappadocia

The ideal first journey for American travelers with limited time. Three nights in Istanbul exploring the Old City and Bosphorus, then two nights among the fairy chimneys of Cappadocia, with private airport transfers and domestic flights between cities.

10DAYS

Ten Days — Istanbul, Cappadocia & the Coast

Adds the Turquoise Coast or Ephesus to the Istanbul–Cappadocia core. Ten days lets you travel at an unhurried pace with two nights in each region, a private yacht day, and time for spontaneous discoveries your guide suggests along the way.

12DAYS

Twelve Days — The Classic Circuit

Istanbul, Cappadocia, Ephesus, and the Turquoise Coast in a single, well-paced loop. Twelve days is long enough to include a gulet cruise, a hot-air-balloon flight, and a restful beach stay without feeling rushed.

14DAYS

Fourteen Days — The Grand Journey

Our most comprehensive private itinerary. Fourteen days allows you to add the Black Sea coast, ancient Anatolian sites like Göbeklitepe, or an extended stay in Bodrum. Every transfer, flight, and experience is privately arranged and fully supported.

GETTING THERE

Flights and Arrival Planning from the United States

Turkish Airlines is the primary carrier for direct flights to Istanbul, serving more than a dozen U.S. gateways: New York (JFK), Newark, Chicago (ORD), Los Angeles (LAX), Washington (IAD), Boston (BOS), Miami (MIA), San Francisco (SFO), Atlanta (ATL), Dallas (DFW), Detroit (DTW), Houston (IAH), and Seattle (SEA). Most are overnight flights of ten to eleven hours, arriving at Istanbul Airport (IST) the following afternoon.

Alternatively, several European carriers — Lufthansa, British Airways, Air France, and KLM — offer one-stop service via their respective hubs, sometimes at a lower fare or with better award availability. We advise on routing, cabin class, and the trade-off between direct and connecting flights based on your priorities.

We recommend arriving on a daytime flight so you can settle into your hotel, take a short orientation walk, and rest before your first full day of sightseeing. Our team monitors your flight in real time and adjusts your airport pickup if you land early or late.

ARRIVAL SUPPORT

Istanbul Airport Transfers and Arrival Support

Istanbul Airport (IST) is large, modern, and efficient — but it can be disorienting after a long overnight flight, especially on a first visit. Your private driver meets you inside the arrivals hall, immediately after passport control and baggage claim, holding a sign with your name. There is no need to navigate taxi queues or rideshare apps.

The drive from Istanbul Airport to the Sultanahmet (Old City) district takes approximately 45–60 minutes depending on traffic. To the Beyoğlu or Karaköy districts on the European side, expect 40–50 minutes. We select hotels in walkable, atmospheric neighborhoods so you can step outside and immediately feel the city.

Your arrival packet includes a printed itinerary with daily meeting times, a local SIM card or portable Wi-Fi hotspot, and the direct WhatsApp number for our Istanbul team. If anything goes wrong — a delayed bag, a change of plans, a late-night question — you reach a real person who knows your trip.

Inside-Arrivals Pickup

Your driver meets you after baggage claim — no navigating to a curb or finding a meeting point.

Flight Monitoring

We track your arrival in real time and adjust pickup for early or delayed landings.

WhatsApp Concierge

A direct line to our Istanbul team for the duration of your stay, for anything you need.

WITHIN TÜRKİYE

Domestic Flights and Transportation Within Türkiye

Türkiye's domestic aviation network is extensive and reliable. Turkish Airlines and Pegasus Airlines operate frequent flights between Istanbul and Cappadocia (Nevşehir or Kayseri), Bodrum, Izmir (for Ephesus), and Antalya. Most domestic flights take 60–90 minutes and we book them in advance with flexible fares.

On the ground, you travel in private, air-conditioned Mercedes Vito or V-Class vehicles with a dedicated professional driver. Your driver stays with you for the duration of each regional segment — not just single transfers — which means they learn your preferences, your schedule, and your pace. For coastal segments, we arrange private luxury vehicles or traditional wooden gulets depending on your route.

We never use group shuttles or shared transfers. Every vehicle is privately reserved for your party, and every driver is vetted, licensed, and English-speaking at a conversational level. Your guide accompanies you in the vehicle, providing context and conversation as you travel between sites.

DOMESTIC FLIGHTS

Turkish Airlines and Pegasus, pre-booked with flexible fares. Typical routes: Istanbul–Cappadocia, Istanbul–Bodrum, Istanbul–Izmir.

PRIVATE VEHICLES

Mercedes Vito or V-Class with dedicated driver for each regional segment. Never shared with other travelers.

PRIVATE GULETS

Traditional wooden motor-sailers chartered privately for Turquoise Coast cruises, with crew and chef.

YOUR TEAM ON THE GROUND

Private Guides, Drivers, and Luxury Vehicles

Licensed Specialist Guides

Every guide is licensed by the Turkish Ministry of Tourism. Many hold advanced degrees in archaeology, art history, or Ottoman studies. You are matched with a different local specialist in each region — the person best suited to that place.

English-Speaking Drivers

Our drivers are professional, discreet, and conversational in English. They stay with you throughout each regional segment, learning your rhythm and preferences over the course of your journey.

Mercedes V-Class Vehicles

We use Mercedes Vito or V-Class vehicles exclusively — spacious, air-conditioned, and meticulously maintained. For coastal routes, we arrange luxury sedans or private yachts depending on your itinerary.

WHERE YOU STAY

Hotel and Room-Category Selection

Hotel selection is one of the most important decisions in a private Türkiye journey — and one of the areas where our local relationships matter most. In Istanbul, we work with a curated selection of properties ranging from restored Ottoman mansions in the Sultanahmet district to contemporary luxury hotels in Beyoğlu and Karaköy. Each is chosen for its location, service, and character — not its commission rate.

In Cappadocia, the experience is defined by the cave hotel. We book specific room categories in restored stone houses and cave suites, each with a distinct view — valley, sunrise, or balloon-flight path. Room category matters here: a junior cave suite and a panoramic valley-view suite offer very different experiences, and we help you choose based on what matters to you.

On the Turquoise Coast and in Bodrum, we select from boutique beachfront properties, clifftop resorts, and private villa estates. For gulet cruises, we charter traditional wooden boats privately for your party, with a crew and onboard chef. Every property is one we have visited, vetted, and would stay in ourselves.

WHERE TO GO

Recommended Destinations for a First Trip

Four regions form the core of a first private Türkiye journey. Each offers a distinct landscape, history, and pace.

Istanbul

Two or three nights minimum. The Old City, Bosphorus cruise, grand bazaars, and contemporary art districts. Our base for arrival and departure.

Cappadocia

Two nights minimum. Fairy-chimney valleys, cave hotels, underground cities, and optional sunrise balloon flight. A two-hour flight from Istanbul.

Ephesus

A full day or overnight. One of the best-preserved Roman cities in the Mediterranean, often combined with a visit to the terraces of Pamukkale.

Bodrum & the Turquoise Coast

Three to five nights. Private gulet cruises, boutique beachfront hotels, and some of the clearest water in the Aegean. Reached by domestic flight from Istanbul.

For a coastal extension, explore our Aegean Escape — 7-Day Private Luxury Journey, featuring Bodrum and the Turquoise Coast.

  • Personal expenses, spa treatments, and optional balloon flights
  • Gratuities for guides and drivers (we provide suggested amounts)

TIMING

When to Reserve a Private Türkiye Journey

We recommend booking three to six months before your intended departure. This is especially important for spring (April through early June) and autumn (late September through November), which are the most popular travel windows. Cave hotels in Cappadocia have limited inventory — often fewer than thirty rooms — and the best room categories sell out months ahead.

If you are planning around a specific experience — a sunrise hot-air-balloon flight in Cappadocia, a private Bosphorus dinner cruise, or a gulet charter on the Turquoise Coast — early booking is essential. Balloon flights operate year-round weather permitting, but slots fill quickly in peak season.

For travel during Turkish public holidays, school break periods, or religious festivals, we recommend even more lead time. We are happy to advise on timing and can often secure availability that is not publicly listed, thanks to our direct relationships with hoteliers and operators.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Do U.S. citizens need a visa for Türkiye?

No. Ordinary U.S. passport holders are visa-exempt for tourist stays of up to 90 days within any 180-day period. Entry requirements can change; travelers should verify requirements before departure. We share the latest guidance as part of your pre-trip materials.

How far in advance should I book a private Türkiye tour?

We recommend booking three to six months ahead, especially for spring (April–June) and autumn (September–October) departures. Cave hotels in Cappadocia and boutique properties on the coast have limited inventory, so early planning secures the best room categories.

Are your guides licensed and English-speaking?

Yes. Every guide in our network is a licensed Turkish Ministry of Tourism guide with fluency in English. Many hold advanced degrees in archaeology, art history, or Ottoman studies. You travel with a different local specialist in each region rather than one guide for the entire trip.

Is Türkiye safe for American travelers?

Türkiye welcomes millions of international visitors each year and our itineraries focus on the well-established tourist regions of Istanbul, Cappadocia, the Aegean, and Mediterranean coasts. We monitor conditions continuously and adjust routes if needed. Your safety is our priority.

Can you arrange international flights from the United States?

We do not ticket international airfare directly, but our team advises on the best routes, cabin classes, and arrival times. Most travelers fly into Istanbul Airport (IST) on Turkish Airlines, which offers direct service from over a dozen U.S. cities including New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, and Washington, D.C.

What is the best time of year to visit Türkiye?

Spring (April through early June) and autumn (late September through November) offer the most comfortable temperatures for sightseeing. Summer is ideal for the Turquoise Coast but hot in Istanbul and Cappadocia. Winter is quiet, atmospheric, and excellent for museum visits and photography.

How do payments work for a private journey?

A 20% deposit secures your itinerary and hotel inventory. The balance is due 45 days before departure. We accept bank transfers and major credit cards. All terms are detailed in your personalized proposal.
